The skin of the eye area is the thinnest and most fragile of the entire face.
One of the most common eye-area complaints and concerns faced by people, as they start to age, is excess pigmentation and dark circles around the eyes. Dark circles give the appearance of sunken eyes, tired look and of being older than your true age.
The causes of dark circles are multifactorial and consist of deep-set eyes, increased melanin production, homosiderin deposition, increased blood flow and edema.
While dark circles may be hereditary for some people, they are simply a part of the aging process.
Ethnicity has also an influence since certain racial origins show a tendency to have increased deposition of melanin in the lower eyelid area.
Photoaging and gravity interplay to increase the darkness over time. As the skin moves down from the eyelid area due to gravity, it gets thinner and blood vessels increase in response to this thinning. The fat pad that lies below the eye starts to thin over time giving a more sunken look to the area. The light that hits this fat pad gives the illusion of dark circles.
The skin’s thinness allows blood vessels and pigments in the under-eye area to become more visible. Any damage to blood vessels may result in the deposition of homosiderin, a rust-colored, iron-containing pigment. Exposure to UV light over time increases melanin production in the area contributing to the darkness.
Puffiness in the eyelids also form a part of the appearance of dark circles.
Lack of proper restful sleep also causes dark circles for reasons which are not properly understood but which may be related to skin and blood supply changes in the area.
ANTICERNES dark circles eye cream is formulated specially to brighten your eyes and get rid of puffy eyes, under-eye bags and dark circles around the eyes.
ANTICERNES hydrates and revitalizes the fragile skin around the eyes.
Erases fine wrinkles and enhances the skin tone for a youthful appearance.
Effectively fades and diminishes dark circles around the eyes and promotes the formation of smooth and firm skin around the eyes.
Chamomile and allantoin soothe the eyelid tissue and improve its tolerance as they relieve congestion and inflammation.
Horse chestnut and hamamelis improve resistance and reduce the permeability of blood capillaries.
Hamamelis acts in synergy with horsetail as astringent. They protect elastin fibers and favor mending of the connective tissue.
Arnica improves poor blood circulation and reduces pigment deposits caused by “leaky” blood vessels.
Titanium dioxide functions as an effective physical UV sunblock as well as a camouflaging agent that forms a very thin light opaque white film over the treated area. It deflects sun rays and discourages pigment formation.
Haloxyl reinforces firmness and tone of the eye area. Chrysin stimulates the enzymes leading to the clearance of bilirubin, a yellow pigment, and Hydroxysuccinimide makes the iron soluble for elimination.
Eyeliss decreases capillary permeability. It increases lymphatic circulation and improves firmness and elasticity of the skin while decreasing inflammatory phenomena.
Niacinamide inhibits the transfer of pigment from the melanocytes to keratinocytes and can thus help to decrease hyperpigmentation and allow skin lightening.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE:
Apply a little cream onto dark circle area beneath the eye. Gently massage cream onto skin, moving from the inner corner of the lower eyelid and over the dark circles, until fully absorbed.
